Having just spent a few good hours hunting the search engines, we’ve finished a comprehensive list of all the major stock market simulation games out there. Each game has it’s own writeup page with a link to the game site itself.
Sitting there and writing snapshot reviews of 25 different simulator sites gave me pause to think - there are a lot of sim sites that totally duplicate each other. For example, Alexadex and Alexashares both track sites based on their Alexa ranking and display value based on that ranking rise and fall.
Now I understand that one site was a spinoff from the other due to failures in the server load initially. So it shows there is room for multiple stock simulator sites on the same genre. This is why we built StocksOnline as a dynamic stock simulation application, and implemented it with the TV Stocks Online webgame. We are currently in the process of developing two new StocksOnline games, one for celebrities, and one for a futures exchange.
It just beggars the mind that there are so many different games out there, each grabbing a portion of the online pie, and one of the biggest game sims, the HSX is among the most poorly run.
Until next time.
