Simexchange gets a real writeup

The Simexchange, which we featured a little while back in the articles The More I digg and Simexchange November Developments has now gotten a full writeup in Yahoo News as to it’s effective prediction methods for video game sales and popularity.

As you may know, the Simexchange allows players to buy and sell shares based on a upcoming or current release video games’ potential popularity. Back in August last year, the Simexchange came to the attention of the big guns when it fairly accurately simulated the runaway sales of the game Bioshock from Take-Two interactive.

The Simexchange’s developer, Brian Shiau based his exchange off the book The Wisdom of Crowds which came out in 2004. And the Simexchange itself was released to the internet in November 2006. It now boasts more than 8,000 active members.

Well done Brian and the Simexchange.
