Hollywood Stock Exchange

The HSX or Hollywood Stock Exchange is the original online stock simulator. Started as a news group and email list, it went live in 1997, and then went public in 2000. It is currently owned by Cantor Financial who are running the exchange.

HSX is not the most stable of systems, although it boats more than a million registered players, estimates that less than 5,000 are actively playing at any given time. The site goes down regularly, and has many software glitches that prevent smooth gameplay.
